Temporary Data Analyst

Temporary Data Analyst
The main purpose of this role is to provide continual data analysis, checking quality and looking for continuous improvement to achieve the organisational/agreed outcomes. Review and report on data quality in the Age NI services and projects.
The main responsibilities of the role are:
- To assist Age NI’s data management business area
- Review and report on data quality in Age NI services and projects, as appropriate
- Provide innovative approaches in relation to data management processes
- Support the design and review of reporting systems for internal and external use
- Accurate input, import and export of data to/from the Data Management Systems
- Support Age NI departments/projects with changes to data, importing new data and custom report retrieval
- Audit and maintain data quality and data integrity in line with the Data Protection Act 2018
- Mine the data to assist in enhancements and develop improvements
- Support the Database & Administration Manager to provide solutions to data quality findings
- Support the Impact & Evaluation Manager to achieve agreed outcomes
- Resolve any data issues in a timely manner
- Research and validate data using appropriate internal data sources.
- Identify trends in the data, workflow processes, and data solutions
- Support the data management and administration team as required (or as appropriate)
Applicants should have the following experience:
- Experience working with Microsoft Excel using pivot tables, sort function, COUNTIF, VLOOKUP, HLOOKUP and COUNTA
- Experience of using Data Management Systems (Raiser’s Edge or similar)
- Experience in Data Quality Analysis
- Demonstrate significant experience in a relevant discipline such as Business Information Systems, Computer Science, Economics, Information Management, Mathematics, Statistics (desirable)
Applicants should have the following essential knowledge:
- Excellent working knowledge of data mining, quality and integrity
- Knowledge of GDPR compliance and application for the Data Management Systems (desirable)
Applicants must have the following essential skills:
- Excellent organisational skills with ability to use own initiative
- Excellent team player with the ability to support the team as required by the Manager
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Excellent analytic and interpretation skills with ability to solve problems
- Creative, organised with strong attention to detail
- Ability to work to tight deadlines, prioritise workload and multi-task when required
- Ability to be discreet and deal with confidential information
- Excellent ICT skills with strong emphasis on Microsoft Excel
It is desirable that applicants have the following qualifications:
- Degree level qualification or (desirable)
- Excel qualification or ECDL or equivalent (desirable)
What Age NI can offer you:
Salary Scale: £26,610 - £28,010 per annum (under review)
Hours: 35 hours Monday – Friday 9:00am – 5:00pm with flexible working policy
Fixed Term Contract for until March 2020
Annual Leave: 26 days plus 12 Bank Holidays
Group Personal Pension (contributions on qualifying earnings: 5% employer and 3% employee)
