ESSENTIAL CRITERIA
Qualifications and experience
•    Minimum of NVQ level 2 in Early Years Care and Education or equivalent.
•    1 years experience of working with children aged 3 and under.

Knowledge:
•    An understanding of the importance of play and the importance of parental involvement
•    Knowledge of SureStart aims and objectives

Abilities:
•    Willingness to work at different locations across the Smile SureStart area.
•    Demonstrate an ability to travel to different locations in the Smile SureStart.

 Personal Attributes:
•    The post holder must be Friendly, Caring, Helpful and Flexible. 
•    Possess Good listening skills
•    Have patience and understanding.
•    Be approachable

Desirable Criteria:
•    NVQ Level 3
•    First Aid Qualification 
•    Music / art / craft skills
•    Experience of working with children with special needs.
•    Knowledge of High/Scope
•    Knowledge of Birth to three matters
