We are looking for Support Workers for Foyle CONNECTS in Derry/Londonderry

 

What’s the Role:  Support Worker

 

What It Takes:

 

An important part of the staff role is to support the needs of individuals through the ethos and values of Praxis Care.

 

So the ability to be resilient, to communicate effectively and to utilise a variety of communication tools is essential.

 

Our dedicated staff team support our individuals to learn and develop their skills to aid in their independence. Each staff member has something to bring to the role and we encourage staff to use their humour and sense of fun and creativity in supporting our individuals with day to day life.

 

Where You Would Work: Foyle CONNECTS

The service aims to empower and encourage the people we support to reach their aspirations and make their goals a reality, individuals are provided with opportunities to develop their self-esteem, confidence and realise their potential. The service facilitates individuals to be mentally and physically active and increase their overall wellbeing. The service aims are facilitated by both volunteers and staff within Praxis Care. Individuals are given guidance, advice and support throughout the service.

CONNECTS is a day opportunity placement for adults with a learning disability ranging in age from 19 years old up to 70 years plus.

The service is based within CONNECTS Service The Verbal Arts Centre Stable Lane, Bishop Street, Derry, BT48 6PU however the people we support are afforded more opportunity to get out of the service and connect within the local community.

CONNECTS service is available Monday to Friday 9:30 – 4:30 each day.

The service can have elements of lone working for staff while working with a group of individuals within the community setting supporting activity involvement.

Salary Details:

 

Support Worker

30 hour Contract available

*£24,133 per annum

 

 

 

 

*Salary based on 39 hours per week
