Support Worker - Banbridge

We are currently looking for positive and enthusiastic Support Workers to join our committed team in Banbridge in supporting adults with a range of needs. 

You will be supporting adults with a learning disability to do just the same things you and others do. This might be anything from cooking and cleaning, to going to the supermarket or taking part in leisure activities. You will help them to lead the life they choose. We focus on person centered support, tailored to individuals needs.

The successful candidates will-

• Be people centered, empowering and inclusive in respecting all people.
• Challenge the wrong ways of thinking about learning disabilities.
• Be positive and enthusiastic about working for Mencap and demonstrate true commitment to the work they do.
• Have an active and positive contribution to the team by providing good ideas and solutions for team actions to improve the performance of the service.
• Work professionally and effectively with others within the team to ensure you all achieve the best outcomes for each person you support.
• Support individuals in a way that is meaningful to them to develop a lifestyle that is dignified, rewarding and meaningful.
• Be dedicated to working within individual support plans to support all people to achieve their goals.
   

  You will need to have:

• Good people skills
• Ability to work to deadlines and within a constantly changing environment
• Ability to complete paperwork.
• A willingness to participate in sleep-ins is highly desirable.
