Sessional Complementary Therapists

Centre for Health and Wellbeing (CHWB) is seeking to recruit a bank of suitably qualified sessional complementary therapists, to deliver therapies to Victim’s and Survivors of the conflict, Carers and those in the community coping with poor mental health.

Centre for Health and Wellbeing (CHWB) is seeking to recruit a bank of suitably qualified sessional complementary therapists, to deliver therapies to Victim’s and Survivors of the conflict, Carers and those in the community coping with poor mental health. 

 

The key element is to deliver complimentary therapies to vulnerable individuals at the Centre and in outreach locations.

 

Key Roles and Responsibilities:

 

  1. Deliver Complementary Therapies in a confidential setting providing therapeutic holistic support for members of the public who have experienced trauma and / or are coping with poor mental health.
  2. Manage Complementary Therapies administration associated with the delivery of this support (templates provided by CHWB) including the MYMOP evaluation tool. 
  3. Refer clients, with client consent, to other service providers as required.
  4. Prepared to work in ‘lone working’ situations in delivering outreach services
  5. Engage in training as and when required by CHWB.

 

Interested therapists, are self employed, and must be able to provide evidence of the following:

 

  1. Professional insurance.
  2. Membership of a relevant professional organisation e.g. MFHT.
  3. Proof of their qualifications to deliver complimentary therapies. 
  4. Minimum of two years’ experience working in a community setting.
  5. It is desirable that the therapist has experience of working with individuals who have been directly affected by the NI conflict/troubles.
  6. It is desirable that the therapist has experience of working with individuals impacted by trauma. 

 

If selected to work with CHWB therapists will be required to attain an enhanced Access NI Disclosure Certificate and make the Disclosure Certificate available to CHWB.

 

Applicants are asked to send their CV, evidence of all relevant qualifications, details of experience and copies of all supporting documents e.g. copy of insurance and professional membership to the contact details provided.

 

The contract expires on the 31 March 2019 but subject to funding may be extended to 31 March 2020.

 

The Centre for Health and Wellbeing receives funding from the Department for Communities and the Victims & Survivors Service in the delivery of its services.
