Senior Policy and Research Officer

The Northern Ireland Human Rights Commission is a statutory body with a wide range of functions relating to the promotion and protection of human rights.

Applications are invited for the following permanent, full-time post:

Senior Policy and Research Officer

Salary £49,806-£54,588 per annum.

The post holder will have responsibility for preparing advice for submission to the Northern Ireland Executive and Assembly regarding human rights compliance. The post holder will also be responsible for preparing advice to the Secretary of State for Northern Ireland and Westminster Parliament in respect of legislative or other measures which ought to be taken to protect human rights.

The post holder will be required to monitor and promote compliance by the United Kingdom government, in Northern Ireland, with international human rights standards, to prepare submissions to inter-governmental and non-governmental organisations, and to conduct research and investigations as required by the Commission.
