REPORTS TO: Head of Service – Young Person’s Services
SALARY: Points 44- 48, £39,495 - £43,247
DEPARTMENT: Homelessness Services
LOCATION: Central Office, Belfast 
HOURS OF WORK: 35 hours per week.
There will be a requirement to occasionally work unsocial hours and for travel throughout Northern Ireland.

JOB PURPOSE: To ensure day to day operational delivery of services, and that the strategic objectives and policies for young homeless people are developed and applied consistently across all sites for which the post holder has responsibility, and that the performance outcomes, as agreed with the Head of Service, are delivered.
To be the lead in delivering a social work led service model providing appropriate supervision as required.

ESSENTIAL CRITERIA

Qualifications

• A professional social work qualification and registered on the appropriate part of the NISCC register, without condition.

Experience
• 4 years’ work experience in any health or social care setting working with vulnerable young people or people experiencing homelessness in one or more of the service user groups supported by the agency.

• At least 2 years of this experience must be in a relevant operational management capacity in a health and social care setting.

• Be able to evidence post registration training and learning.

Knowledge
• Can demonstrate how they use their knowledge and experience in working with young people experiencing problems to develop innovative service delivery.

• Can demonstrate how they have used their knowledge and experience to develop solid partnerships with agencies to develop strategic approaches to the delivery and development of services.

• Can demonstrate experience of using their knowledge and experience to input into the development of services for young people.

• Understanding and evidence of working successfully at a senior professional and/or managerial level in:
➢ Strategy development and implementation of Service delivery for young people,
➢ Successful development of services and performance improvement with specific reference to young people
➢ A proven understanding and experience of how technology can be effectively used in the delivery of services
➢ A clear and thorough understanding of the operational context within which young people’s services are developed including awareness of current legislation, policy and practice developments.

Aptitudes
• Evidence of applying innovative and analytical approaches to solving complex and challenging problems.
• Evidence of effective written, oral and inter-personal skills, including presentation, advocacy, negotiation and consultation skills.
