As a member of the management team, under the Service Manager, to assist in the effective and efficient management of the service on a day-to-day basis, maintaining good standards of professional practice as required by the Northern Ireland Social Care Council, while upholding the Christian ethos of the Council for Social Witness.
In the absence of the Service Manager (or Deputy Manager), to exercise responsibility for all aspects of the operation of the service and to relate to all callers including relatives and professionals.
ESSENTIAL CRITERIA
- Experience of devising, implementing and reviewing person centred care plans and individualised risk assessments.
- A good understanding of adults who require care, particularly those with a learning disability
- A minimum of NVQ/QCF Level 2 Award in Health and Social Care or equivalent and willingness to work towards Level 3.
- Awareness and understanding of Adult safeguarding policy and procedures
- Appropriate IT skills to be able to use Microsoft Word, email, RQIA portal and electronic recording systems
- A minimum of 2 years’ experience caring for people with disabilities
- Willingness to achieve competency in administering medications, which must be completed within 4 weeks of start date.
- Availability for flexible hours working (including weekends and bank holidays), which may include hours beyond the normal shift pattern to ensure the safety of the Home
- Must maintain registration on the relevant section on the Northern Ireland Social Care Council register
- Must be willing to behave in a manner which upholds the Christian ethos of the Presbyterian Church in Ireland
