Voluntary position
Fancy getting outdoors and doing something amazing for nature? Join our team in the beautiful Antrim Hills, where you'll help to protect precious ground-nesting birds like the Curlew - no experience needed, and full training provided.

We are looking for volunteers to help with habitat management for ground nesting birds, specifically our Curlew nest protection work in the Antrim hills. This role is all about taking on a few tasks as part of an existing team that supports the RSPB’s operations.

What’s in it for you?

You will be making a genuine contribution to nature conservation, so if that is your motivation, you'll find satisfaction in this role. You will learn all about how the RSPB works and gain experience working for an environmental charity. We like to think we're a friendly and welcoming team, so you'll have the opportunity to make new friends too.

What experience do you need?

Full training and support will be provided for the tasks you are undertaking but in general, we are looking for people with the following skills and experience:

· Reasonable level of fitness – this is physically demanding role, carrying heavy equipment over rough terrain.

· Enthusiasm for working outdoors.

· Ability to prioritise tasks to be available at very short notice.

· Experience using strimmers/brushcutter would be beneficial.

· Access to own car and full driving licence.
