Support people in their homes, support people in their lives

At Inspire’s Floating Support service, we help people to stay well and stay housed. Our work takes us out into the community – visiting individuals across the South Eastern Trust area, from Bangor to Ballygowan and from Dromore to Lisburn.

We are currently recruiting a Project Worker to join our team, with flexibility to work across both our Bangor and Lisburn services. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone who enjoys working independently, thinking creatively, and making a tangible difference in people’s day-to-day lives.

💛 What’s the role about?

Our Floating Support service works with people aged 18–65 who live with mental ill health and need support to maintain their tenancies. We don’t provide personal care or medication support – instead, we focus on practical, community-based support that helps people stay safe, well, and connected.

As a Project Worker, you will:

  • Visit clients in their homes once a week (1–2 hours per visit)
  • Support people to manage their tenancy, household tasks, and wellbeing
  • Help with benefits, budgeting, and liaising with housing providers
  • Reduce isolation by helping people reconnect with community groups and services
  • Signpost to resources such as SERC, the Recovery College, and wellbeing hubs
  • Work independently, managing your own caseload (typically 12–13 clients)
  • Use digital systems to record support and track outcomes

🧭 What does a typical day look like?

Every day is different – that’s part of what makes this role so rewarding. You might:

  • Start your day in the Bangor or Lisburn office, checking in and planning your visits
  • Head out to meet two or three clients in the community
  • Return to complete your support notes and paperwork
  • Work flexibly to manage your time around appointments and client needs

🙌 Why people love working here

“I love the trust and independence. You’re supported, but you’re also given room to manage your own day.”

“There’s something different every day. It’s such a variety of people and places.”

“We support each other to support others – that’s what we do.”

🎯 Who thrives in this role?

  • Someone confident, empathetic, and good at building rapport
  • Someone with excellent time management and organisational skills
  • Someone who’s not afraid to think outside the box
  • Someone who can stay calm and make sound decisions independently
  • Someone who likes driving and seeing new places – you’ll be out and about a lot

🎁 What you’ll get from us

  • A stable and welcoming team with great peer support
  • Comprehensive induction and shadowing to help you settle in
  • Ongoing supervision and training tailored to your learning goals
  • A flexible schedule – no nights, no weekends, no bank holidays
  • Real job satisfaction – you’ll see people make progress and feel proud of the part you played

✅ No two clients are the same – and no two days are either

If you’re looking for a varied and rewarding role where you’ll be valued, trusted, and part of a mission to end homelessness, then this could be the perfect next step.
