The Outreach & Navigation for Social Inclusion & Digital Engagement (ONSIDE) programme is a cross border project led by Disability Action NI (DANI) in partnership with the Northern Ireland Housing Executive (NIHE); the Independent Living Movement Ireland (ILMI); and Supporting Communities (SC).  It seeks to improve the life outcomes of people with disabilities living in the border region of Northern Ireland & the Republic of Ireland by creating a new cross border area community support services to support disabled people who are socially isolated.

 

Disability Action wishes to appoint to the following position: -

 

Peer Research Coordinator (Ref PRCO19)

£24,766 pa / 35 hours per week - Fixed to December 2020, with the potential for extension

 

The Peer Research Coordinator will have the responsibility for instigating and coordinating a comprehensive mapping and research process across the ONSIDE Project operating area to establish the scope of services currently available on a cross border bases for people with disabilities to reduce social isolation and improve health and well-being.  This will be action research, supported by Peer Researchers and the information will be used to populate on online web resource.  The successful applicant must have the following:

 

  • A relevant third level qualification that includes a significant research element (e.g. Social Policy, Research, Political Studies).
  • At least 1-year experience of undertaking a community-based action research project.
  • Familiarity with both qualitative and quantitative research methodologies.
  • Knowledge of policy issues relating to people with disabilities.
  • The ability to work effectively with a wide range of communities.
  • A high level of computer literacy with experience of using Microsoft Office packages.
  • The ability to prioritise workloads and work to deadline.
  • The ability to work on own initiative and as part of a team.
  • Demonstrable interpersonal, presentational and communication skills.
  • The ability to meet the travel requirements of the post
