Hours: 22.5 to 37 hours per week available
Tenure: Permanent
Salary: NJC Scale 5, Points 12-17 (£27,711-£30,060) per annum pro rata

The role
The Payroll Officer will be responsible for processing the Early Years Salary Service, ensuring accurate and timely payment, and maintaining payroll records. They will also support the Head of Finance Services with processing employee payroll.

Essential criteria
• Minimum 2 years’ experience in end-to-end payroll processing.
• Strong knowledge of PAYE, NI, SSP, SMP, and other statutory payments.
• Proficiency in Excel and payroll systems.
• Excellent organisational and communication skills, with a high level of attention to detail.
• Ability to handle sensitive information with the utmost confidentiality.
• Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to analyse financial information effectively.
• Comfortable managing payroll-related queries from clients and employees.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Ability to develop good working relationships with external organisations.
Desirable criteria
• Good working knowledge of Sage 50 Payroll.
• Experience of working in the voluntary sector.
