This is an exciting opportunity to work with the four largest nature conservation organisations in Northern Ireland to drive forward the concept and practice of nature recovery networks in Northern Ireland.

It is widely accepted that nature reserves are not enough to halt the decline in wildlife but that action needs to be taken at a landscape scale to achieve this. A ‘Nature Recovery Network’ (or ecological network) is a joined-up system of places important for wildlife.

The Project Coordinator will drive a focused project with the aim of upskilling the four largest natural heritage organisations in Northern Ireland so that they can better apply an ecological network approach in their work in the future to achieve a NI-wide nature recovery network. They will lead on the creation of a first set of ecological network maps for Northern Ireland. They will also upskill the wider sector and advocate for a nature recovery network with decision makers.

They will also facilitate the sharing of information and good practice at all levels through establishing a practitioner’s network between the four organisations driving forward meaningful collaboration, leading to a more effective sector.

We’re looking for an experienced project manager who is passionate about nature’s recovery with excellent communications skills.
