The Role
As a Money and Debt Adviser, you will:

Provide clear and user-friendly advice to the public on technical and complex areas of general debt-related matters including understanding of the legislation, court and insolvency processes and related systems.

Explore and provide a range of debt resolution options and strategies to offer clients the choice most suitable to their circumstances and needs.

Negotiate with creditors and debt collection companies and help to deal with a range of debt related issues including secured and unsecured debt.

Always ensure compliance with legislation, procedures and confidentiality requirements, requesting clients’ feedback to improve our services.
About You
We are interested in applications from people who may join us at entry level, as well as those who already have more relevant experience. You do not need to have worked in this type of role previously, if you can demonstrate that you meet the following criteria.
Entry Level Trainee:

The ability to put people at ease

Excellent verbal and written communication skills

Strong IT skills

Excellent attention to detail

The willingness to learn and develop through completion of an extensive formal training programme and continued professional development.

A commitment to fairness and equality
Or, to join the team as a trained Money and Debt Adviser:
More Experienced Trainee:
-
Money and debt advice experience in the last three years, or equivalent experience in a customer service setting

Evidence of the ability to understand complex information and legislation
-
Case recording skills
-
To have completed Debt Advice Training, Advice NI or Lawe Centre NI Generalist Adviser Training Programmes, or equivalent training
