2 Jobs Available:Abbeyside Supported Housing, 3 Abbeyside, Newpark Road North, Antrim, BT41 2DQ:

 

– 1 Full-time (37.5hrs per week), Permanent position.

– 1 Full-time (37.5hrs per week), Fixed-term contract for 6 months.

 

Salary: Band 1 (£18,193 – 21,450) per annum pro rata

MindWise supported housing services provide safe and supportive accommodation for individuals with severe mental illness and mental health problems. The service aims to encourage tenants to live independently in their own homes. They are progressive in their methods of identifying and meeting tenants needs within the service and in the wider community.

 

The role purpose:

  • To improve the lives of people experiencing severe mental health difficulties.
  • To encourage and support active participation of service users underpinned by the Recovery model.

To provide personal care when necessary to ensure service users can remain in their own home for as long as possible.

 

Key objectives for the post:

  • Work in partnership with the individual service user to develop recovery support plans based on individual needs and strengths.
  • Support the individual service user to implement their support plan based on the MindWise Client Pathways framework.
  • Support individuals to self-manage and develop independent living skills.
  • Supporting individuals potentially in a stressful situation, people in crisis and individuals considering suicide or intending to harm themselves.
  • Provide personal care according to the individual’s needs outlined in their Support Plan.
  • Work in partnership with the Health and Social Care Trust and related agencies to deliver a programme of care and support that will meet the needs of the individual referred.

 

Experience and knowledge required:

  • GSCE or equivalent grade C or above in English and Maths
  • Must be able to demonstrate a minimum of 6 months experience of providing support to people with a mental illness either in a paid or voluntary position.

OR

  • Demonstrate a minimum of 1 years experience of providing support in a paid or voluntary capacity in another care setting.
  • Willing to provide personal care according to individual’s needs outlined in their support plan
  • Willing and able to participate in a 24-hour rota including waking nights, sleepovers, weekends, public holidays and lone work when required.
