Ulster Wildlife are seeking to recruit a Living Seas Officer who will be a passionate promoter of our Living Seas vision and share our enthusiasm for the achievement of thriving marine wildlife from the ocean depths to the coastal shallows. 

Living Seas is Ulster Wildlife’s vision for the future of the seas that surround us.  The Living Seas Officer will be a passionate promoter our Living Seas vision and share our enthusiasm for the achievement of thriving marine wildlife from the ocean depths to the coastal shallows.  The postholder will be working with local people across Northern Ireland, maintaining and building on community and stakeholder relationships developed by Ulster Wildlife helping people contribute through citizen science schemes to our seas future.

Job Description

Role:                          Living Seas Officer – MATERNITY COVER

Salary:                       £24,867 per annum (Pro Rata). Access to employer’s contributory pension scheme up to a maximum of 7% employer’s contribution.

Location:                  Ulster Wildlife Offices, 10 Heron Road, Belfast, BT3 9LE.  This post will require travel throughout Northern Ireland and there will be occasional                                            travel throughout the rest of the UK and Ireland.

Contract:                  28 January 2020 to 04 September 2020 (7 months). This post is subject to a 6-month probationary period.

Hours:                      22.5 hours per week to include some weekends and evenings. There is potential for the role to become full-time (37.5hrs) from 01 April 2020                                             pending funding approval.

Leave:                      24 days per annum plus 12 days statutory holidays (Pro rata).

Reporting to:          Living Seas Manager.

Responsible for:    Living Seas Volunteers.
