uHub Therapy Centre is a successful CIC providing counselling, psychotherapy, coaching, art/music/drama therapy along with EFT, mindfulness and group work. We have a strong reputation for our Huddle programme and our work with children with ASD, emotional and/or behavioural problems.
Job Purpose:
The Huddle project workers will support CYP aged 8 to 24 with emotional and behavioural difficulties via one to one sessions or within a therapeutic group workshop (Huddle) with 6-8 others. One of the settings is specifically for CYP with a diagnosis of autism. Project worker will be responsible to the project manager.
Key Responsibilities include:
Delivering group workshops (Huddles) to groups of young people and be involved in the planning and creation of activities to include art, drama, music and movement along with mindfulness.
The successful applicants will have the qualifications, skills and experience below:
Essential Criteria
- Possess a qualification in Counselling, Play Therapy or a Creative Arts Therapy
- Have at least one year’s post qualifying experience of working with children and young people in a therapeutic capacity
- Have experience of working with primary and/or secondary aged young people, whichever is relevant to the post being applied for
- Have a good understanding of educational settings
- Be willing and able to deliver both individual and group work
- Hold membership of an appropriate professional body (BACP, BAPT, BADth, BAAT, BAMT etc.)
- Where applicable to your qualification/training, be HCPC registered or professionally accredited (or actively working towards accreditation).
Desirable Criteria
- Experience working as part of a team
- Experience using yoga, mindfulness or movement techniques
Summary of main conditions of service
Salary: £25,600 per year (pro rata, 16hrs per week, term time only) The salary is £25,677 p.a. (pro-rata if part-time/job share) based on skills and experience
NJC Point: NJC Scale (2018), Point 28-30 pro rata
Contract: Two year contract, may be extended if further funding is secured
Hours:Part-time - 16hrs per week, term time only (40 weeks per year) to include some weekends as required and 8hrs per week
Place of work: The project will be delivered predominantly from Bangor, but will have outreach in schools and community groups and a base located on the peninsula
Applicants must have a current driving license or access to a form of transport which allows them to undertake the duties of the post in full.
This role will involve regular one to one contact with children and adults with disabilities and / or mental ill health. Access NI checks will be completed for all applicants.
