BHCP is an umbrella organisation representing a range of community organisations in the Creevagh Springtown Wards of the City. Our aim is to provide a strategic partnership approach to responding to the needs of residents through effective services.

Purpose:

The Western Health and Social Care Trust (WHSCT) Health Improvement Department in association with Public Health Agency (PHA), Department of Social Development (DSD), and the six Neighbourhood Renewal (NR) Partnerships in the North-West, have developed NHIP, a programme to improve health and wellbeing in line with their specific priorities identified in all NR action plans. NHIP will be delivered across all NR areas in the north-west. Each NR Partnership will employ a part-time Health Development Worker to form a delivery team that will be facilitated by a project coordinator to deliver the project in their respective areas. In the Outer West Area Ballymagroarty Hazelbank Community Partnership is employing the Health Worker.

 

Duties & Responsibilities:

 

  1. To work with the Ballymagroarty Hazelbank Community Partnership (BHCP), in partnership with the Project Coordinator and delivery team, and to identify, organise and implement health & well being, educational programmes and events, and to develop and encourage health and well being for the communities of the Neighbourhood Renewal (NR) areas.

 

  1. To liaise with appropriate statutory, community and voluntary agencies to ensure complementarities in delivering programmes in the NR areas.

 

  1. To work with the Ballymagroarty Hazelbank Community Partnership (BHCP), in partnership with the project coordinator and delivery team, to identify and secure resources from various bodies to help sustain long-term health programme delivery.

 

  1. To ensure that programmes are targeted, organised and implemented appropriately within the NR areas.

 

  1. To work with the delivery team to develop a training programme appropriate to NR needs.

 

  1. To deliver and source trainers to deliver health programmes, projects, and services.

 

  1. To research and cost all aspects of proposed programmes keeping within budget parameters.

 

  1. To convene and present programme proposals to the Management Committee and prepare monthly progress reports as appropriate, in consultation with BHCP, the project coordinator and the delivery team.

 

  1. To ensure that proper financial records of programme development are kept up to date, including the recording and reporting of all in-kind contributions towards programme development.

 

  1. To implement the agreed monitoring and evaluation framework identified for the programme.

 

  1. To carry out any other reasonable duties required by BHCP or the Project Coordinator.

 

  1. To operate Health and Safety at Work procedures.

This position is for a fixed-term period due to terminate on 30/06/2017 subject to funding. The post holder will also have to satisfactorily complete a probation period.
