Employers For Childcare is opening an exciting new family adventure centre - High Rise - at our site in Altona Road, Lisburn (5 minutes from Sprucefield and the A1/M1). We are seeking to recruit a Head Cook and a Cook who will be responsible for the smooth running of the kitchen and servery including supervising kitchen staff, ensuring that policies and procedures are adhered to and food safety management criteria are met at all times.

High Rise, will feature an indoor climbing arena combined with a multi storey soft play area, party rooms, sensory room and a café serving high quality coffee, snacks and lunches. The centre will provide services for families with babies and children, teenagers, mature adults and corporate clients.

It will incorporate Clip ‘n Climb - best described as 'theme park meets climbing wall'. Clip ‘n Climb is the leading global brand in fun climbing walls and allows anyone over the age of 4 years to take part in physical exercise in a safe yet challenging environment.

The Head Cook and Cook will be responsible for ensuring that high quality food is prepared and served to a high standard and in an efficient manner.  They will work alongside the Management Team to develop and deliver menus that will cater for a wide range of needs and ensure optimum revenue is generated from the Café.  They will be responsible for ensuring the highest standards of cleanliness and hygiene, both in working methods and personal hygiene.

The centre will open 7 days per week, morning until late evening, and the Head Cook and Cook must be available to work full time on a rota basis, including evenings, weekends and bank holidays. With a planned opening date of late Summer/early Autumn, we are now recruiting for the full range of posts.

Applicants must fully meet the essential criteria as set out in the Personnel Specification which includes a minimum of 2 years relevant experience of preparing, cooking and serving food within a busy restaurant/café environment and Valid Level 2 Food Hygiene certificate (or equivalent) or willingness to gain prior to commencing the role. Those applying for Head Cook must also have experience of leading within a kitchen environment.
