As part of Glencraig residential services, the Group Leader will enable adult residents who have learning disabilities and challenging behaviour, to pursue a valued lifestyle by supporting them with personal care as well as with social, emotional, spiritual, and daily meaningful activity needs.

The Group Leader will mentor and supervise the Support Team and will work on a rota basis that includes unsocial hours and weekends.

 

Salary:                        7-point incremental scale commencing on £28,828 to £33,363 per annum. Where Level 5 qualification in Health and Social Care is attained, salary point 7 is accessible, dependent on length of service within the role.

 

Hours of Work:          40 hours per week, fully flexible to include unsocial hours, evenings and weekends.

Length of Contract:  Permanent

Essential Criteria:    

  • QCF Level 5 in Health & Social Care OR A diploma / certificate equivalent to National Occupational Standards Level 5 in a Health & Social Care related discipline OR Currently enrolled in QCF Level 5 in Health & Social Care with a completion date within one year of commencement in post. 
  • Registered or applying for registration with the N. Ireland Social Care Council.
  • Demonstrable evidence of 1 years’ experience working with people in a care/ support capacity within the last 2 years.
  • Experience in planning or implementing and reviewing individual support packages.
  • Experience of providing direct personal care to individuals
  • Experience of team working
  • Experience of working with people with a learning disability

 

Desirable Criteria:   

  • QCF Level 3 or QCF Level 4 in Health & Social Care
  • Experience of running or assisting in the running of a house for residents with learning disabilities.    
  • Experience of managing staff and/or volunteers
