Belfast and Lisburn Women's Aid

Belfast and Lisburn Women’s Aid provides a range of support and accommodation services for women and children experiencing domestic violence.

We are currently seeking to recruit Gardening Volunteers to maintain our gardens in South and North Belfast. Our gardens provide enjoyable outdoor space for use by women and children using the services of Belfast & Lisburn Women’s Aid.

The role will involve general weeding, watering, sowing and planting of seasonal flowers/bedding plants, mainly throughout the spring and summer seasons. Hours of volunteering are flexible however regular watering of the garden will be required during sunny periods.  Gardening tools will be provided and volunteers will be reimbursed for any expenses incurred.

Due to the level of contact with vulnerable women and children, the lawful recruitment of females for this/these post/s falls within the exemption stated in Article 10 (2b&e) of the Sex Discrimination (NI) Order 1976.
