THE ROLE The Funding Development Officer will be responsible for raising funds and support for Woodland Trust priorities and projects at a Northern Ireland and UK level, identifying fundraising opportunities, and meeting team fundraising targets.

The Woodland Trust is the UK’s leading woodland conservation charity. We want to see a UK rich in native woods and trees, for people and wildlife. The Trust aims to engage and inspire people about woods and trees to help us meet our vision of creating, restoring and protecting woodland. We own and care for over 1,000 woodland sites across the United Kingdom and support the creation and management of woodland on land outside the Trust’s own estate.

THE ROLE
The Funding Development Officer will be responsible for raising funds and support for Woodland Trust priorities and projects at a Northern Ireland and UK level, identifying fundraising opportunities, and meeting team fundraising targets.

The role is extremely varied including securing significant financial support through NI/UK fundraising working with philanthropic individuals and organisations as well as creating and developing new opportunities and relationships through grant applications, major donors, legacy activity, project fundraiser and cultivation events.

THE CANDIDATE
You’ll have experience of working in fundraising, third sector or in a targeted communications environment and of planning and developing appropriate engagement material. With outstanding communication skills, you’ll be confident and comfortable communicating through formal and informal methods to engage and inspire a range of audiences and individuals

A full driving licence is required, along with your own vehicle, and you must be able to undertake travel across Northern Ireland as well as nationally, sometimes to remote locations. There will also be evening and weekend work when required.

There may be opportunity for this role to be home based depending on location of successful applicant.
