Current Vacancy – Food for Thought Project Officer

Keep Northern Ireland Beautiful, with the support of the National Lottery Community Fund and working in collaboration with The Conservation Volunteers and Belfast Food Network is delivering the Food for Thought Project, a ‘grow your own’ project devised to maintain and build community resilience and contribute to health and wellbeing during the COVID-19 crisis. We are seeking to appoint a Project Officer to coordinate and deliver this initiative.

37.5 hours per week; Salary £21,480 (6 month contract, expected to commence in June/July 2020)

The successful candidate will be a highly motivated and enthusiastic individual, with a background in project management & delivery, specifically in the areas of environmental management/horticulture.  Solid ICT skills and fluency with social media channels are essential elements of this role. Applicants must have excellent communication skills and have the ability to work accurately with attention to detail, and to prioritise and cope with a demanding workload. An understanding of growing principles and practices is desirable.

You will have specific responsibility for the successful development and delivery of the Food for Thought project, working in collaboration with partners to meet targets within budget and on time.

Keep Northern Ireland Beautiful reserves the right to hold a reserve list, for a period of approximately 12 months, from this recruitment to fill similar roles which may arise.
