Essential Skills Numeracy Tutor

As Numeracy Tutor, you will be required to motivate and support learners; trainees and apprentices achieve relevant Numeracy qualifications to enhance knowledge in this field.  Your role will be to design NVQ training programmes/resources and deliver high quality teaching to a diverse range of learners.

You will carry out assessments of learner individual needs and provide teaching accordingly.  You will also source and implement appropriate industry work placements for learners.

We would welcome applications from individuals who can demonstrate drive, determination and a commitment to continuous professional development. 

Possession of the following qualifications is essential, a Degree in Maths or 3 years industrial, professional or business experience and a minimum Level 5 qualification in Maths. 5 GCSE’s including maths, English and ICT.  Previous experience in the design and delivery of training programmes and the evaluation of such learning is also essential.  Possession of a Certificate in Teaching would be a distinct advantage and a recognised assessor qualification (or be willing to work towards gaining).

 

You will have 2 years’ experience (occupational competency), in delivering and assessing numeracy qualifications, following training and assessment plans, building portfolios of evidence and preferably experience of working with young people who exhibit challenging behaviours.

 You must possess a current driving licence.
