This role involves delivering a new Zero Waste education programme to primary school children across Northern Ireland. The programme aims to equip youngsters with practical knowledge and skills to significantly reduce waste, encouraging a deep understanding of sustainable practices like reducing, reusing, and repairing to normalise these habits in everyday life.
Key responsibilities include delivering training sessions and workshops to schools, as well as conducting 'train the trainer' sessions for partner organisations. You'll also play a vital role in the further development and design of the programme, creating engaging materials in consultation with colleagues and participating schools.
Effective coordination and logistics management with schools and member organisations are crucial for all programme activities. You will ensure full compliance with all health and safety, safeguarding, and GDPR obligations when working in schools. The position also involves monitoring and evaluation, including compiling comprehensive reports and scoping future projects. Finally, you'll be responsible for organising and delivering programme launch and celebration events.
Contract : A fixed term contract until 31st of March 2026, with potential to extend subject to satisfactory performance and programme funding
