RNIB’s Employment Service want to support as many blind and partially sighted people as we can to find and stay in work. This is a great opportunity for you to make a difference to the lives of blind and partially sighted people and make a positive change to the concerning statistic that only one in four blind and partially sighted people of working age are in employment.
This rewarding role will see you developing careers for people with sight loss. It involves working with blind and partially sighted people on the Eye Work Too project. This sought after project supports blind or partially sighted people to develop the skills and experience necessary to gain employment. Commitment to this project involves taking part in an eight week Pre-Employment programme that includes:
- A personalised employment development plan
- One to one pre-employment workshops that include, job search, CV development, interview skills and more
You will also be working on the Workable (NI) project that supports a number of blind and partially sighted people to retain paid jobs across every employment sector throughout Northern Ireland.
You’ll need training and advice-giving experience in an employment setting and proven experience in a work programmes environment or equivalent. The role will be shared with an existing employment officer on a job share basis.
