Early years programme assistant (part time)

Reports to : Early years coordinator

Salary £8.50-£9.50 per hour

25.5 hours per week as follows:

Monday 8.45am – 2.45pm

Tuesday 8.45am – 2.45pm

Wednesday 8.45am – 3.45pm

Thursday 8.45am – 12.15pm

Friday 8.45am – 1.15pm

Start date : Mon 1st February

This post is funded until June 2021, with possibility of extension. A 3-month probationary period applies. Quarterly reviews of set targets will take place. 

The chosen candidate will support the delivery of the Early years programme for children aged 2-3 who require early intervention due to an identified need. The assistant will work as part of a programme which ensures maximum engagement and participation of the children, as a well as assisting with feeding and toileting. You could work either indoors or outside, depending on the activity. Our ideal candidate will have a kind, empathetic personality, an understanding of additional needs and passion for working with children. They will be flexible, reliable and committed with excellent timekeeping skills and a good sense of humour. A pro-active attitude is required and someone who doesn’t mind getting physically involved and messy!
