Driver (DRC19 & BANK19)

The Disability Action Transport Scheme (DATS) provides fully accessible transport to disabled people and others who have difficulty in using public transport.  The DATS transport scheme that operates in and around large towns across Northern Ireland allowing disabled people and others who live in these towns to travel in and around their local area.

Disability Action wishes to appoint to the following positions: -

(1)     DRIVER (DRC19)

£10,292 pa / 19¼ hours per week

Carrickfergus / Newtownabbey

(2)     DRIVER – (BANK19)

£18,713 pa / 35 hours per week

Belfast; or Bangor / Holywood / Newtownards; or Carrickfergus / Newtownabbey

The post holder will work as part of a team of Drivers providing an accessible passenger transport service.  The successful applicant must have the following:

• A Category D1 PCV driving licence (up to 16 people for hire & reward) or to be in possession of a Category D PCV driving licence.
• A full Certificate of Professional Competency (Driver Qualification Card).
• Relevant driving experience that includes passenger transport.
• The ability to display considerable perception and sensitivity in dealing with people.
• The ability to work on own initiative as well as part of a team.
• The ability to communicate effectively.
