To be responsible, through management and staff leadership, for promoting and ensuring the highest standards of care, in compliance with statutory requirements, to meet the physical, social, emotional and spiritual needs of the residents within the Christian ethos of PCI. To support the Service Manager in all aspects of the Management of the Service.

Location: Corkey House, Belfast
Salary Scale: £30,527 per annum - £35,191 per annum
Hours: 39½ per week worked flexibly, including evening and weekend working. Hours based on 3 days in office and 2 days working on the floor.

CRITERIA
Qualifications and Knowledge
Essential

  • A minimum of NVQ/QCF Level 3 in Care (or equivalent qualification)
  • Knowledge and understanding of the current legal responsibilities of the post and standards for the service, including the need for management and delivery of person-centred services
  • Knowledge of current health and social services available for those with additional needs
  • Computer skills for word processing and emailing
  • The ability to plan, develop and implement programmes of care

Relevant Experience
Essential

  • A minimum of 3 years’ experience providing care to older people or people with a disability in a regulated service (residential or nursing Service, supported living or domiciliary care service)
  • Experience of ordering, receiving and administering medication
  • Experience of liaising with RQIA
  • Experience in the care of older people
  • A minimum of 1 years’ experience of supervising staff
  • Previous experience of managing residents with dementia/challenging behaviour
  • Experience of administration

Special Circumstances
Essential

  • Must be willing to work within the Christian ethos of PCI.
  • Must be available for flexible working, including on call at night, week-ends and sleep in, as required
  • Willingness to maintain registration with the appropriate professional regulatory body eg., NISCC or NMC
  • Must be willing to adhere to NISCC Codes of Practice or N.M.C.
  • Satisfactory Access NI check
