COMMUNITY YOUTH VOLUNTEER & TRAINING DEVELOPMENT OFFICER - RE ADVERTISEMENT

Job Purpose: 

The Upper Springfield Youth Team works with young people aged 11 to 25 from the Upper Springfield area who may experience marginalisation. The project employs a ‘needs’ led and outcome driven community youth work approach, which affirms the voluntary, emancipatory and democratic nature of the relationship between youth worker and young person. The youth team works for the social inclusion of marginalised young people from the Upper Springfield area by supporting and enhancing their rights, participation, education, health and well-being. We are also committed to supporting young people from the Upper Springfield area to develop leadership qualities and skills by providing training and community volunteering opportunities.

The successful candidate will play a lead role in supporting and developing volunteering opportunities for young people from the project and developing a calendar of informal and accredited training that will enhance the leadership skills, personal development and employability of young people. Specifically this post will lead the design and delivery of two core youth development programmes the Community Peer Leadership Programme and the Emerging Leaders Programme. The post holder will also deliver a calendar of accredited programmes will need to be motivated and committed to developing the skills and knowledge of young people from the Upper Springfield Community and beyond.
