We are looking for a driven, experienced and creative communications professional with a passion for delivering excellent media coverage and social media content.

Working as part of the Policy and Communications Team in Northern Ireland, the Communications Officer will have a strong news sense and will and be able to find and develop stories on our fundraising, services and campaigns.

The successful candidate will know how to successfully work with colleagues internally and externally to maintain strong relationships, while influencing effectively to get the best result for Macmillan and people with cancer. We need someone who is calm in a crisis, who is fantastic at prioritising the most important and urgent work and who has a strong radar for reputational risk.

In this role developing and maintaining good relationships with key media contacts is essential, as is having a good awareness of how to meet the needs of different media. The right candidate will have good planning skills and will always be willing to learn and try new approaches. They must also have the skills to produce marketing materials for Macmillan services as required.
