Foyle Down Syndrome Trust are currently recruiting for a Charity Funding Officer. This person will support the sustainability and enhancement of our exceptional and vital service provision to people people with Down syndrome. We are looking for a passionate, dedicated and hardworking individual to join our team. The candidate will be required to have experience identifying, applying for and securing funding from a range of funding bodies, trusts and corporations. Job description

To identify and secure funding from a wide range of potential avenues including Foundations, Corporations, Trusts, Funding bodies and individuals to ensure the continuation and development of the work of Foyle Down Syndrome Trust.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement comprehensive fundraising strategies and plans to secure financial support from individuals, corporations, foundations and other funding sources.
  • Identify and cultivate relationships with potential donors, sponsors, and partners, nurturing long-term partnerships to support organisational objectives.
  • Prepare and submit compelling grant proposals, applications and reports to secure funding from grant-making trusts and public bodies.
  • Work as a team to plan and coordinate fundraising events and campaigns, including donor cultivation, events, online fundraising initiatives and other fundraising activities.

Skills and Qualifications

Essential Skills

  • Educated to Degree Level.
  • A minimum of 3 years' experience identifying, submitting applications, securing and monitoring funding grants from a range of funding streams.
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to engage with a wide range of audiences confidently.
  • Competent using a range of IT systems.
  • Ability to work under pressure, to deadlines, and to work independently, using initiative when required.

Desirable Skills

  • A minimum of 5 years' experience identifying, submitting applications, securing and monitoring funding grants from a rage of funding streams.
  • Experience of securing multi-year funding.
