Pretty n Pink Breast Cancer Charity
Pretty ‘n’ Pink is the breast cancer charity for Northern Ireland, and aims to:
- Provide financial, and other support services to breast cancer patients and their families.
- Help advance education of breast cancer awareness and breast care awareness.
- Provide any other means that may help improve the lives of breast cancer patients and their families.
This is an exciting time for the charity as we prepare for a move to new premises and the launch of new services for 2020.
We currently have a wide range of active board members, each with individual skills and expertise, but at present we have a particular desire to strengthen our current board with individuals from the following areas of expertise:
- Corporate and / or Charity Governance
- Fundraising
- Social Work (with an emphasis on benefits advice)
- Performance Management
- Human Resource Management
- Healthcare Professional (Oncology nurse, oncology doctor)
Key Responsibilities and Commitment Required
The current board of trustees meet every 3 months (inclusive of AGM), these generally take place in the evening time over approximately 1 ½ hours at our Belfast office.
There may be at times an occasional requirement if and when available for additional meetings, attendance at events, and to sit on recruitment panels.
Trustees also act as a mentor or adviser to staff as and when required.
Essential Criteria
Working experience of one or more of the above-named areas of expertise.
A dedicated individual with a desire to help the organisation set and achieve strategic goals and objectives.
A genuine passion for the ethos and work of the charity, with a keen desire to help improve the lives of people with breast cancer in whatever way possible.
Able to commit to attend regular board meetings.
A flexible approach, and willing to devote a reasonable amount of time (outside of board meetings) to help support and further the work of the organisation.
