Age NI is delighted to invite applications for the following casual vacancies in the Castlewellan and Newcastle area.

Bank Respite Support Workers – Castlewellan/ Newcastle area – (as and when required)

The successful applicants will provide support to carers by providing a respite service

The main responsibilities of the role are:

  • To work under the supervision of the First Connect Co-ordinator  in the fulfilment of the service
  • To provide a respite service for older people in their own homes
  • To be aware of any changes to the older person and communicate these to the First Connect Co-ordinator  
  • To maintain high standards of care and compassion in working with older people in order to enhance their ability to live at home by providing support for their carers
  • To undertake appropriate training, as required
  • To work flexible hours on an as and when required basis
  • To work to professional code of practice regarding confidentiality at all times.

Applicants must have the following:

  • Experience of providing care to an older person in a paid or voluntary capacity
  • A current driving licence and access to a car or an alternative form of transport that allows you to meet the travel needs of this post
  • Post holder must be registered with NISCC and will be subject to an enhanced Access NI check [Please read Access NI Code of Practice]

 

What we can offer you:

Salary Scale: £8.21 per hour plus a mileage allowance

Hours: flexible – the successful applicants will work on an “as and when required” basis

Full training will be provided including manual handling
