The All Ireland Endorsement Body for Community Work Education and Training (AIEB) is Seeking to Recruit a Co-ordinator

Established in 2010, the All Ireland Endorsement Body for Community Work Education and Training (AIEB) is an all-Ireland body that ensures quality and standards in community work education and practice.

Thanks to support from the Department of Rural and Community Development, AIEB has an exciting new opportunity for a highly motivated, experienced person to take on the position of AIEB Co-ordinator and lead its work over the coming 2 years.

 

Role

The AIEB Co-ordinator will have responsibility for advancing the AIEB’s goals and for developing and implementing the AIEB work programme 2021-2023.

The role of the Co-ordinator is to support AIEB in strengthening and building the community work discipline through:

  • The development and maintenance of community work standards
  • The development, promotion and support of endorsement and validation frameworks for community work education
  • The development and maintenance of appropriate links and exchanges with national and international quality assurance and educational bodies.

AIEB, an independent body with its own board, is hosted and supported by Community Work Ireland. The position is full time for a period of two years.

The ideal candidate will have a strong commitment to community work values and standards, understand community work as key to addressing injustice, exclusion and poverty and be committed to promoting equality and human rights locally nationally and globally. The successful candidate will have considerable experience working on this basis.

This is an exciting opportunity for anyone seeking to work in a dynamic, interesting and developing sector at this crucial juncture.  It is an opportunity for someone interested in fulfilling an important role in supporting education and training for community workers, ensuring that quality standards are embedded in all elements of community work education and training and supporting community work educators and practitioners while also promoting and encouraging use of community work methods in other disciplines. 

 

Location: Ability to work from home is essential due to Covid-19 restrictions. Post Covid the office base will be that of CWI in Galway and arrangements will be made with the AIEB Co-ordinator regarding essential presence there.

Salary: €45,000 – €50,000

Qualifications and Experience: A 3rd level degree or post graduate qualification in community work/community development is essential and at least 3 years post graduate relevant work experience.
