Administrative Officer
Action for Children, Northern Ireland
Our Northern Ireland Regional Fostering Service provides a high quality service for a wide range of children and young people aged 0-18 years.
The service offers a range of placements including short and long-term placements, solo placements, and sibling group placements, including placements for disabled children and those presenting with multiple needs and challenging behaviour.
As an Administrative Officer you’ll be based in our Belfast office to support the staff team and service users.
This role is offered on a part-time basis, working 4 days a week. Although there can be some flexibility regarding which days you work on, 3 days will be spent working for the Northern Ireland Regional Fostering Service and 1 will be focussed on finance for the Northern Ireland Hub.
How will you make a difference?
By answering the telephone and meeting and greeting visitors to the service office
By updating and maintaining accurate digital records
By carrying out all general administrative and office duties for the service
By assisting the social workers prepare for their panel meetings and providing them with the documents and information they require
By processing invoices and assisting in credit control
What will you need?
GCSE A-C in English, Maths and IT
Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office, especially Excel
The ability to work to deadlines and multi-task
Excellent communication skills, attention to detail, organisation and time management skills
The ability to work as part of a team but also to use your own initiative
A good telephone manner and a head for figures
The ability to remain calm under pressure
