Belfast Electronic Arts and Music Academy (BEAMA) are offering FREE workshops for 8-17 years old as part of the Ardbone ’18 festival. Workshops will take place during the festival week, 20th-24th August, in the ABC Trust Library, 51-59 Ardilea Street, Belfast.

The objective of the Islamic Cultural Exhibition is to give the people of Belfast and Northern Ireland an opportunity to come and see what Islam and Muslims are about. This is also an opportunity for people to come and ask the questions that they may have regarding Islam and Muslims.
The Islamic Cultural Exhibition will be complete with information, history, artworks, artefacts and literature about Islam and Muslims. There will also be short discussion forums where members of the public will be able to discuss and ask questions about Islam and Muslims.
The exhibition will be completely free of charge with Complementary tea and coffee for all members of the public.

Documentary photography seeks to capture real-life events as they occur and communicate these events through photography to a wider audience. The images aim to inform the viewer of a place or time in history, bringing a truthful representation of events. Using the Belfast Exposed archive as a catalyst, the course offers contextual knowledge together with the technical skills and project planning skills. The course will cover all areas of documentary photography, from its origins and working photographers to setting challenges for each participant to think about their photography and the development of their project.
This technical course is aimed at beginners to Lightroom and those wishing to refresh previous knowledge.
The course will cover the basic Lightroom features and techniques that you can use to adjust, correct and enhance your photographs, how to prepare your photographs for printing, and how to catalogue and organise your library of images.
The exhibition emphasises the power of photography as a tool to create a culture of hope to reach what they have been longing for: to live in peace. Through different photographic processes, the artists Ingrid Guyon and Antonio Amador, both individually and collaboratively, aim at transforming memories of migration, resistance and armed conflict into memories of peace.
An open dance workshop with Sutemos Youth Dance group, who focus on engaging with young people from minority cultures. The workshop is an opportunity for people of all ages and cultural backgrounds to come together and dance, sharing ideas and creativity.
