Founder of Pink Therapy - Dominic Davies
This one-day training seeks to offer some of the most contemporary thinking, about providing therapy for the full range of GSRD clients seeking help. We shall explore some of the core concepts and common themes when working with these populations (examining the role of minority stress, microaggressions, intersectionality, and the impact of shame and trauma on GSRD people). Led by Pink Therapy founder Dominic Davies.

When we share a minority identity, we have a particular set of challenges to both our self-awareness and self-care; ensuring we're able to keep the client at the centre of our gaze. This training will invite participants to engage in the process of self-reflection and experiential learning. We can only accompany our clients as far as we have gone ourselves.

As the new Memorandum of Understanding on Conversion Therapy v.2 makes specific requirements and obligations concerning training, we shall explore how we as therapists should respond to requests to change gender and sexuality when coming from deeply conflicted members of the community.

Dominic Davies is the Founder of Pink Therapy and has been working as a counsellor, psychotherapist, clinical supervisor and clinical sexologist for over 35 years. He has published extensively in this field and delivered training across the world. He currently directs a Postgraduate Diploma in Gender, Sexual and Relationship Diversities Therapy which is primarily studied online.

Dominic was recently appointed Ambassador for GSRD to the National Counselling Society, where he is also a Fellow registrant. Dominic is also a member of the World Professional Association for Transgender Health (WPATH)

Pink Therapy is a signatory organisation to the Memorandum of Understanding on Conversion Therapy. We are an Accredited Training Centre with the National Council of Psychotherapists, an organisational member of the National Counselling Society, (who have conferred Advanced Specialist Status on our Foundation and Diploma training programmes). Pink Therapy is also a member of the World Association for Sexual Health (WAS) and the International Lesbian and Gay Rights Association (ILGA)
