AIM:
Understanding of what is considered as challenging behaviour, values, knowledge and skills necessary for competent practice, with adults with learning disabilities.
Learning Outcomes:
- discuss a range of behaviours, which are considered to be challenging
- define tolerance levels within teams, recognise the impact of languages and opinions
- begin to evaluate present strategies for reporting, recording and managing challenging behaviours
- begin to review possible forms of intervention, including support systems, which promote a positive value base and which enables workers to assist individuals to communicate and meet thier own needs
- develop a realistic and supportive policy an effective team-working practices, when working with people with learning disabilities
