Did you know that 8 out of 10 children learn about money from their parents? But not all parents feel comfortable talking about money to their children. Some parents might think that money shouldn't be discussed with children until they are much older.
But evidence suggests that children can start learning about money from a very young age. A lot of what they need to learn as adults to manage money well is already in place by the age of seven e.g. learning to wait for things.
Talk, Learn, do NI: Parents, kids and money is an evidence based completely FREE parenting intervention aimed at 3 -11 year olds to help them avoid financial issues later on in their lives.
In the session we explore how to teach children about money in everyday situations. The course is interactive and full of useful information and guidance. It explores the concepts of saving money, relevant to their age group and family situation. These messages are passed on from parent to child for example through fun games, empathy, praise and good decision making skills.

- If you are a parent/carer and are interested in getting involved in the parenting module, then we would love you to join us on any of the listed events for parents.
- If you are someone who works with parents/carers and would like to deliver this module as part of other activities, or stand alone, then why not book in for our Train the Trainer sessions?
