Slieve Donard Challenge in aid of TinyLife

This talk explores how the Society treated the sick within its own walls and how it endeavoured to respond to various public health issues. The Society played a key role in the provision of maternity care and the establishment of a lunatic asylum as well as dealing with epidemics of infectious and venereal diseases.

Positive Steps Outdoors have an upcoming green therapy programme for this spring and summer, focusing on promoting positive mental health through nature walks with mindfulness-based coaching. Here are the key details: • Programme Structure: Half-day midweek and full-day weekend events offer flexibility. • Dates and Locations: Various scenic locations including Divis and Black Mountains, Donard Forest, Tollymore Forest Park, Mournes area and more with events from May to Sep 24. • Accessibility: Suitable for all fitness levels, no prior experience required. • Equipment Loaned: We can provide equipment as part of the fee for hassle-free walks.

In this Workshop we will cover: – Biomechanics of the squat (anatomy, assessment, interventions & considerations) – Stress, anxiety and depression: What is the difference? – Covering signs, symptoms and when to worry – Prevalence of Mental Health Conditions – Evidence Based Practice: What does the research say? – Physical Activity Approaches and Guidelines for MHC – Learn the main phases associated with each of the Olympic lifts and typical problems experienced. The lifts included are the clean, the jerk, and the snatch.
