ARK is pleased to announce this seminar, which will mark the release of the findings of the 2018 Northern Ireland Life and Times Survey.

This event presents new findings on public attitudes towards transgender people in Northern Ireland, using data from the 2018 Life and Times Survey. Gail Neil (Ulster University) and Siobhán McAlister (Queen's University Belfast) will explore levels of self-reported prejudice and attitudes towards contemporary public debates in this area. The session will provide space to discuss the meaning of the findings and explore how, if going forward, such surveys might capture more nuanced attitudes, particularly relating to the visibility of trans people in public life.
