Loneliness: The Last Taboo in the Modern World
SRH Counselling Services
Half day Workshop Saturday 8th May 2021 2.30-5.30pm via Zoom!
Loneliness is an emotional response to perceived isolation. It is a lack of connection and intimacy and we can feel lonely even when around others. We deny it; we run from it; we fear it.
Explored from a psychodynamic perspective we will examine this social emotion and how as a relational species the presence of loneliness triggers feelings of shame, fear, loss, rejection, and abandonment and an identity crisis.
