The training will focus on a number of theoretical approaches to working with addictions, as well as the development of many new skills.
How to look after self, ways to avoid becoming affected by working with those who are affected by addictions.
Contexts:
In today’s world, those who suffer from addiction, are under terrible pressure, suffering tremendous amounts of anxiety, depression, and stress. Thoughts and feelings such as these, can drive such individuals to attempt to counter such negative experiences by drinking even more alcohol, take even more drugs, which leads in many cases to self-harming or even to suicide.
The course will cover working with such issues, and additional issues such as working with those who suffer from PTSD, trauma, domestic violence or even exam stress. A lot of individuals will use chemicals to counter such pressures often leading to a secondary problem, which in many cases is more intense than the original difficulty.
