How to Create a Photobook

Belfast Exposed

Belfast Exposed

Cost: £150.00
The three-week ‘Creating a Photobook’ course is perfect for people who are considering creating a photobook.

The course will look at the different elements involved in creating a photobook from an initial edit, through to a meaningful sequence and design considerations. The course also covers a variety of publishing options, including self-publishing, short run and on-demand printing, and working with a publisher.

Participants will leave with an understanding of photobooks as a concept and a physical object, as well as the tools, skills and knowledge required to design and bring their own photobook to publication.

What you will need

  • Laptop - can be provided upon request.
  • A printed selection of 15 to 30 images, which you would like to make into a photobook. These images should be printed at a maximum of 6 x 4 inches. They don't need to be fine art prints - photocopies, shop prints are fine e.g. Tesco, Boots, Snappy Snaps
  • Low-resolution JPEG files of all the images you want to include in the book. These images should be a maximum of 2000 pixels on the long side. In the first session, you will use the digital images to provide a short presentation to introduce and discuss your project.
