The Prisons Memory Archive is a collection of stories and films recorded at the Maze Long Kesh prisons and Armagh Gaol, where ex-prisoners, prison officers, probation officers, families, educators, artists and others explored their relationship and memories to the site through the lens of their personal experience with conflict. These films are now being made available at the Public Record Office of Northern Ireland and we are hosting an event aimed at those who may be interested in using the material as a resource. We feel this archive might be particularly relevant resource for community workers, academics, educators, researchers and students with a particular interest in oral history collections, reconciliation, media portrayal of conflict and community relations.
