Community Leader Training - Health Literacy

This is a free event

This is a free, interactive and activity based one-day training programme which aims to improve health literacy understanding and skills for community leaders with a focus on increasing self-care for minor ailments.

Who is the Community Leader training for?

It is open to anyone who works or volunteers in a community setting to support people with their health and/or social factors that influence their health. This includes staff and volunteers in voluntary organisations, community groups, councils, health and social care and Government agencies.

Learning Outcomes

Increased understanding of health literacy
Increased awareness of the impact of low health literacy on individuals' everyday lives and their ability to self-care
To gain knowledge and techniques that you can use in practice to help improve health literacy through your work

Lunch and refreshments will be provided.

Priority will be given to individuals from community/voluntary organisations.
