This session will help you develop and maintain your knowledge on the key regulations, decision maker guidance and case law required to challenge common problem areas within U.C such as;
    • Claim closure and suspension
    • Sanctions and their impact
    • The difference between determinations and decisions and what you can do with them
    • Conditionality for work and work related activity 

    It is also a useful companion course for those seeking to attend our 1-day course in Tribunal Representation as its content will give you the prerequisite enhanced knowledge of the benefit under appeal.

    This course has been designed for advisers and others working in the area of Social Security who wish to give the most effective advice on UC and better challenge decisions.

    This is a CPD course and it will provide learners with information on UC Decisions. It links to a range of National Occupational Standards for Legal Advisers including:

    • SFJIB19 - First line welfare rights legal advice
    • SFJIB20- Provide specialist welfare rights legal advice
