Centre for Cross Border Studies 20th Anniversary Conference

The Centre for Cross Border Studies

The Centre for Cross Border Studies

Cost: £50 - £95
This special annual conference will explore if the Belfast / Good Friday Agreement has fostered growth and improved relations within and between the islands. Looking to the future, the event will consider the path required to ensure that these islands and their citizens can step forward with confidence and integrity in challenging times.

The conference will be of interest to leaders in cross-border and cross-jurisdictional cooperation, especially those involved in the Strand 2 implementation bodies, local authority-led cross-border networks, policy-makers, political representatives, business and civic society organisations on the island of Ireland, in Britain and beyond.

This one day conference will begin with a business breakfast at 8am, followed by key note addresses and three panel discussions which consider the three strands of the Belfast / Good Friday Agreement.

  • (Strand 3) GFA Institutions as a framework for Brexit and good relations between the jurisdictions
  • (Strand 2) North South cooperation; past present and future landscape
  • (Strand 1) Good relations in Northern Ireland; building confidence for the future?

The event will close at approx. 5pm and delegates are invited to continue the conversation at a post-conference Drinks Reception and Journal Launch before closing with the 20th Anniversary Conference dinner.
