Belfast TradFest returns for a Winter Weekend jam-packed full of traditional music, song and dance, with some of the best traditional musicians, singers & dancers from across these islands. Featuring a full programme of concerts, workshops, talks, sessions, céilís & festival club, it’s the only one of its kind in Northern Ireland and brings together both Irish and the Ulster-Scots musical traditions, in a shared celebration of culture & heritage.

The only TradFest of it’s kind in Northern Ireland, our Winter Weekend brings together both Irish and the Ulster-Scots musical traditions, in a shared celebration of culture & heritage located at various iconic venues and pubs throughout the city centre.

With concerts from The Friel Sisters, Séamus & Caoimhe Uí Fhlatharta, Jack Warnock & Lauren O'Neill, Cúig, Sorcha Costello & Mary MacNamara, Ryan Molloy and The Duncairn Trad Collective, Frankie Gavin & Catherine McHugh, Ríoghnach Connolly. And a very special Celebration of Seamus O'Kane with Déanta, Harry Bradley & Dónal O'Connor, Marcas Ó Murchú & Róise Ní Mhurchú, Aoibheann & Deaglán Uí Dhoibhlin, Good Morning to your Nightcap, MC Gino Lupari.

Our very popular Festival Club returns for two nights with Niall Hanna, Rachael McGarrity & friends on Friday 24th Feb and Gino Lupari with Tim Edey & Dermot Byrne on Saturday 25th Feb.

For the budding musicians and dancers, we have a full programme of music an dance workshops taking place at the University of Ulster, York Street, Belfast on Saturday and Sunday mornings. The perfect opportunity to learn from some of the best whether it be Banjo or Bodhrán, Cello or Concertina, Fiddle or Flute, there’s something for everyone.

We have a whole host of afternoon events on the Saturday & Sunday: Album launches, talks, demonstrations, walks and a trad quiz’s.

The TradFest Session Trail starts on Friday evening and carries on through to Sunday evening, visiting some of Belfast’s most iconic pubs. Each live music session lasts 2 hours and is completely free to attend.
